The Virtuous Woman Award

My beautiful and strong friend Amy nominated me for this award! She is doing an amazing job homeschooling her girls! I sure hope she gets that bread baked soon! I’m hungry!😄

A lot of times us mothers don’t feel like we can even compare to the virtuous woman the Bible speaks about in the following scriptures. I admit I don’t. There will always be someone who is far more talented, has never seemed to make any mistakes, did everything right, raised perfect children and seems to rock this motherhood with the greatest of ease! Today, I hope you embrace the kind of mother God made you to be! Flaws and all….

Now on a serious note, Amy, I feel like I need to tell you all is forgiven! Your children are having the time of their lives! They love you so much, unconditionally, just like Jesus loves! I picture them swinging each other in a wooden tree swing in heaven, laughing with long hair flowing in the breeze. And they will be waiting for their beautiful, healed mother to come home some glad morning. 🙌🏼🦋

“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.”

      • Being a mother, wife and woman isn’t easy! I don’t know everything y’all go through but I respect my wife and everything I see her go through.

This award is really something I think the Lord laid on my heart. And because it’s biblical makes it a little more exclusive.

      • John, thank you so much for that! Us women go through more than can be imagined! We have to be strong a lot of times.

Here’s a deep thought for you…Tell me what you think about this please….

Everything we have to go through as women can be traced back to the Garden of Eden, when Eve was tricked by that ole serpent.

I was reading the following scripture one day when it hit me why I think we women have to deal with a lot of different forms of ‘sorrow’….
It’s my own personal opinion the punishment was that “our SORROW would be greatly multiplied” AND He would “greatly multiply our CONCEPTION (childbearing)-in sorrow we would bring forth children” AND “the husband would have RULE over us.”

Some don’t seem to notice the AND word between the first two statements. It doesn’t say OF or WITH, it says AND… So I feel that we have to deal with ‘SORROW’ in ALL forms. That’s why I think things bother most women more than they do men on a lot of different levels-mentally, emotionally and physically. Most people interpret that verse as meaning we will only deal with sorrow in childbirth only. Maybe it’s just me—But I feel that explains A LOT!

Quoting the verse: “Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow AND (I capitalized this myself) thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”
        ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        1-We would deal with sorrow
2-We would deal with sorrow in childbearing, specifically
3-We would deal with the husband being our Head of household

Tell me what you think about this?🤔🤔🤔🤷🏼‍♀️…not to spark an argument with anyone out there-just food for thought…

      • I believe what you’re saying is a good analysis of the scripture!

Even though it increased your sorrow, it gave you a heart unlike any other creation. Unfortunately, it evokes emotions that the enemy has figured out how to control… but the same with men…
