We Were As Dreamers

Jesus, You’re the only answer to the darkness.

“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭126:1-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Weeping may endure for the night, but JOY comes in the morning! ✌🏼

Your Name Is Power/Rend Collective

Lyrics:

You’re the only answer to the darkness
You’re the only right among the wrong
You’re the only hope among the chaos
You are the voice that calls me on
Louder than every lie
Our sword in every fight
The truth will chase away the night.

Your name is power over darkness
Freedom for the captives
Mercy for the broken and the hopeless
Your name is faithful in the battle
Glory in the struggle
Mighty it won’t let us down or fail us
Your name is power
Your name is power.

I know it is written, hope is certain
I know that the word will never fail
I know that in every situation
You speak the power to prevail
Louder than every lie
Our sword in every fight
The truth will chase away the night.

When you speak you scatter darkness
Light arrives and heaven opens
Holy spirit
Let us hear it
When you speak the church awakens
We believe the change is coming
Holy spirit
Let us see it
When you speak you scatter darkness
Light arrives and heaven opens
Holy spirit
Let us hear it
When you speak the church awakens
We believe the change is coming
Holy spirit
Let us see it.

Happy Sunday! Rejoice Evermore!

  1. Our sermon today dwelt on this theme of light in the darkness. Our pastor had candles during the children’s message to show how sharing your light does not diminish your light, it just creates more light. “Light arrives and heaven opens” when we share our loving message with others. You do that so well, Wendi. Thank you. I love this poem’s positive energy and encouragement ❤

      1. That’s so true: without darkness, we would not appreciate the light. Without valleys, we would not have mountains. We need the contrasts. Sometimes darkness is not negative… in it we can rest. Sometimes valleys are not negative. In them rivers flow!
